The stump removal process

- The stump is ground into wood mulch with a self-propelled machine to a depth of 8-12 inches below the ground level. Surface roots may also be ground away if requested for a charge.
- *Note: Grinding under the surface deeper than 12 inches up to 22 inches will require underground utility locates which will take additional days
- The resulting chips are neatly raked into a mulch pile of dirt and wood mulch where the stump was.
- The mulch pile is left for the client’s use or leveled off to ground level and the excess removed if requested. Alternatively, the hole can be filled with topsoil and the mulch removed for an extra charge.
- Mulch can be used for filling holes or compost in gardens
- ** Before starting, panels will be placed in the working area to minimize dispersal into other parts of the property
- ** For access to backyards with a gate, a minimum width of 30 inches will be required for clearance to pass through. *This is 6 inches narrower than many other stump grinders if you have a narrower gate*
